2016 Spring time news letter.
2015 brought BIG changes to the PWC community. 2016 will continue that type of growth and focus in the sport. The changes to the yearly structure of events at Great Lakes Watercross and U.S. Watercross have been a step in the right direction and will continue with the focus on open events that incompass all aspects of the Personal Watercraft life style. The racing will continue, but not as the sole activity of weekend events. We are going to work on events that include everyone from the Recreational Freestyle, Watercross Racer and the Poker Run enthusiast.
The 2016 events are being worked on now. I'm going to try to start the year off with a large event and continue to bring something to do each month during the summer. We are already working on a large season ending Championship event in September outside of Janesville WI.
Working with area City's and Personal Watercraft businesses, we will continue producing events that will include Surf Rides on Lake Michigan, more Freestyle type events that will include, but not limited to Watercraft Closed Course Racing. A place to hang with other Jet Skiers with minimal event structure, but with water and land permits so nobody receives a ticket.
Thank you to all of the racers who have supported PWC racing here in the mid-west for the past 12 years, yes that's how long we have been racing. Great Lakes Watercross is one of the longest running Personal Watercraft Racing Series in the United States of America.
Thank you to all the people who helped staff and build the racing events, from Kenosha,WI up to Sheboygan, over to Waconia MN through LaCrosse and back down to Prairie DuChien. Over the past few years without your help, none of this would have ever come to fruition.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like to be a part of club racing in the coming summer.
Thank you all for your continued support.
Sincerely, Scott Hyke.
